Senior House Democrat Urges Top Defense Hands to Resign

WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 — A senior House Democrat called today for the resignation of the top two officials at the Defense Department, saying that miscalculations by Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and the deputy secretary, Paul D. Wolfowitz, had cost American lives in Iraq and damaged the nation's fiscal health.

In a letter to President Bush, Representative David R. Obey, the ranking minority member of the House Appropriations Committee, said the Pentagon should be relieved of its role in determining foreign policy in Iraq, in part because of errors made by Mr. Rumsfeld and Mr. Wolfowitz before and after the war.

What would you expect from a demi - These guys hate the republicans and captilism. The socialistic scavengers will take any tough situation and blame a republican for it rather than looking in the mirror and asking - what got us here in the first place. That should be the debate, and let's hold some hearings on the activities of Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein during the nineties and our foriegn policy toward them. Oh ye, lets throw in some public hearing on the our policies reagarding China, Saudi and North Korea as well.

The tragedy occurred on 9/11/01 but the problem started before then. Much like one who has a heart attack - they weren't all of sudden "sick" they had almost certainly been "sick" long before that but had no symptoms.
Unfortunately, we had many "symptoms" prior to 9/11/01 during the nineties but Clinton continuing to eat the potato"e"s fried in fat.

This problem did not start with a dem or a rep. It started when the US decided a long time ago (well before 9/11) that it was OUR way or the highway!
